SUMMARY
The Jr. IT Systems Administrator is a capable, motivated person with the ability to maintain our computer systems and support our end users. The Jr. IT Systems Administrator must have a passion for IT and be able to wear many hats (end user support, networking, application support, imaging, Windows updates and systems administration in a Windows based organization).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides technical support for both hardware and software issues our end users encounter.
- Assists with servicing, upgrading, and deploying computer systems, network hardware, software, and peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.)
- Properly prioritizes, coordinates, and escalates unsolved issues to other support tiers.
- Follows up with end users, provides feedback and directs issues through resolution.
- Troubleshoots systems issues in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Effectively uses Help Desk ticketing system for incident and problem management, customer interaction and follow-up.
- Manages the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems.
- Monitors the system daily and responds immediately to security or usability concerns.
- Creates and verifies backup of data.
- Responds to and resolves help desk requests.
- Upgrades systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
- Installs and tests computer-related equipment.
- Ensures workstations and servers have the latest Windows Updates applied.
- Monitors anti-virus alerts and insures all workstations have AV installed with the latest definitions.
- Handles IT inventory.
- Creates images for workstation deployment.
- Adheres to Information Security standards.
- Active Directory and GPO administration.
- Travels to other locations in Northern California when needed.
- Keeps confidential information secure based on security standards.
- Abides by CTTP Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School graduation or equivalency.
- 3+ years’ experience in systems administration or helpdesk in a Windows environment
- Current California driver’s license.
- Must have experience in MS Active Directory and Microsoft products
- Intermediate understanding of networking, PCs and hardware configuration required
- Experience with desktop, laptop, and other IT hardware deployments
- Willing to expand technical skills as required
- Must be ambitious and goal driven
- Must have attention to detail
- Experience with Hyper-V
- Knowledge of system vulnerabilities, security issues and remediation of
- Ability to respond to help desk requests according to our published SLAs
- Must have a positive attitude and be willing to assist others
- Experience with firewalls is a plus
- MCP, MCSA, Network+, Security+, A+
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be very good at communicating with management and customers
- Ability to provide creative solutions to user problems to ensure user satisfaction and productivity
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills needed with a high focus on customer service
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner while in the field
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Requires sitting 6-8 hours per day.
- Requires driving to site offices, some of which are in remote locations.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, via e-mail, or through correspondence).
- Requires attention to detail and intense concentration.
- Requires work with others in a group or team.
- Requires meeting strict deadlines.

- Experience working with Tribal People helpful.
- Work hours may vary.
